There has not been one boat party or alumnae brunch I have been to that wasn't fun, so with me being able to afford going on a trip, you know I had to attend both. It was so wonderful reuniting with my sisters again. A lot of them I haven't seen in a year, so it was great catching up with a lot of the girls.
My senior year of college I served on the executive board as the Chief Membership Officer. My biggest responsibilities were being in charge of recruitments and of course serving as the pledge mother to the new associate members.

Boat party was crazy, as expected. We stayed out on the lake for four hours, ate BBQ, drank and of course swam in the lake. Needless to say, I was miserable after boat party. I was struggling extremely hard!

My alumnae brunch was held at Iron Cactus. If any of you ever go to Austin and love a good brunch, you must visit an Iron Cactus. I absolutely love their food and they have bottomless mimosas! There was a few girls there that didn't attend boat party, so it was great mingling and catching up with those sisters.
One point during brunch each of the girls stood up, said their name, what class they were from and what they are doing now. As each girl stood and gave their spiel, I could help but feel proud of my decision to pledge my sorority.

I swear to you, I love those girls so much. They are all smart, beautiful and successful women. Each and every one of them are doing such positive things with their lives and they all make me strive and push harder to become a better person.

So my lesson to everyone reading this is that when you surround yourself with positive people, you can only go up from there.
