Halloween Makeup Using Lorac 3D Liquid Lustre

Halloween is one of my favorite holidays of the year, especially being a UT student. Nightlife during Halloween weekend here is an amazing thing to experience; especially if you have a chance to make it downtown to see 6th Street. It is definitely the place to be in Austin. The street is overly crowded with people dressed in their costumes.

The past two years I have been to 6th street on Halloween and I loved it, but this year we didn’t make it downtown. Instead, we went to Kappaween which was a Halloween party hosted by a frat. The best part of Halloween to me is getting all dolled up, putting on the cutest costume, and doing makeup. This year I was Cha Cha Girl, and I played up my makeup using my costume as inspiration.

The one piece of makeup that I couldn’t have done without was my Lorac 3D Liquid Lustre Drops. This is an amazing product point, blank, period. When I had first bought it, I hadn’t really seen much reviews on this product, but I did see one makeup tutorial on Youtube about it and I fell in love.

Lorac 3D Liquid Lustre is a shimmering topcoat that can be used for your eyes and your cheeks. This liquid shimmer product is long-wearing, and gives a luminous and angelic look to my makeup whenever I use it. The liquid itself is a creamy white color, and the shimmers are tiny flecks of gold. It can either be used over eyeshadow, or it can be worn alone. I have personally used it both ways, but for Halloween I used it as a topcoat over my gold and green eyeshadow combination. It comes out of a little dropper, which makes it extremely easy to use.

Words cannot express how much I love this product although I don’t use it much unless I am going downtown, but this Halloween season I was able to put it to good use. Not only did I wear it as my topcoat, I wore it on my cheeks for a Halloween party hosted by Texas Belles. I ended up being a football player and I used black eyeliner for the line marks on my cheeks, and over that I put the Liquid Lustre. It looked absolutely amazing! This product was such a steal, and I can’t wait to have more uses for it in the near future!

Deborah Lippmann Nail Polish

So as I’ve mentioned before, I am a huge nail polish junkie. I have grown quite the collection, but recently I have lost my urge to buy. It’s probably because I have realized I’m a college student and I need to start living on a college budget.

Let’s face it, some nail polish brands can get quite pricey. When I went on my high-end nail polish craze about a year ago, I did find some good treasures in a brand that a lot of people don’t really talk about. I find that OPI, Essie and China Glaze are the most hyped nail polish brands, but there are other great brands out there as well, like Deborah Lippmann! Her polishes are amazing! Her career as a manicurist to the stars has allowed her to evolve a collection of over 45 nail polish colors that are named after celebrities and famous songs.

Although the polishes are quite expensive for a nail polish, I have ended up buying two of her glitter polishes, Happy Birthday and Boom Boom Pow. Now in buying her polishes, I tried to find the most unique colors to justify my purchases, and I have to say I have been extremely pleased.

Happy Birthday looks exactly like it sounds, a complete party on my fingernails. This is a clear polish with multicolored chunks of different sized glitter squeezed into a cute little bottle.

Boom Boom Pow is a cloudy-clear based polish with larger chunks of gold glitter, as well as smaller pieces that are 24K gold dust! Yes, 24K gold dust! I have never heard of a polish quite like this one before and I will admit I bought this one on an impulse, but have been completely satisfied with it. The gold sparkles in the sun and looks gorgeous on your nails!

I will say that both polishes make me feel luxurious whenever I decided to put them on, and I get tons of compliments. I understand shelling out 20 bucks for a nail polish is not economically smart for someone on a college budget, but I feel they are worth the price if you find ones that are unique like these. If I end up making a good grade on a test or assignment, I treat myself to something little every once in a while and you should too! =)
Love and desserts,
Happy Birthday

Tribeza Style Week

A couple of weeks ago I was fortunate enough to be a part of Austin’s style week hosted by Tribeza Magazine. Although I had to wake up extremely early to volunteer with a brunch that showcased many venders, such as Kendra Scott (her jewelry is amazing by the way), I was rewarded with a ticket to the fashion show that happened a few days after.

This was my first fashion show to ever attend, and let me tell you I was amazed. Hosted at the Bob Bullock Museum, I was shocked at how the venue had become this wonderful space where models would walk down the runway. The foyer area was filled with upper-class people sipping on expensive drinks and I have to admit I was star-strucked. Even though I didn’t have a seat, I was able to stand and see the show.

This was such an amazing experience and a complete eye-opener for me. Music blaring while gorgeous models walked down the runway to showcase all the Austin designer’s talents. My personal favorites were C. Jane clothing boutique that’s located on “The Drag” across from campus and Kendra Scott jewelry.

Watching such an amazing show made me realized that I would definitely love to work in the world of fashion or beauty! This is what this blog is for…to share my love for all things fashion and all things beauty. I must say my personal favorite subjects at this time are makeup and nail polish. I am quite the hoarder! =)
Until we meet again...
